Although gutters are used to move water and debris away from your home, soffits and fascias also serve an aesthetic and functional purpose for a structure’s roof. While soffits cover the underside of the eaves, fascias are the horizontal band or face you see at the end of the rafters. Together both soffits and fascias protect the rafters from weather, keep out pests, prevent mold and disguise ventilation for your attic.
If your gutters do not function properly, backed up water and debris can damage the fascia board and can create additional issues due to poor drainage.
